Hi there!

My name is Cintia Susana, but everyone calls me Sussie. I was born and raised in Mexico City, but I've been living in Berlin for a few years now, along with my husband and my cute mean dog @perrito.nicolas.

My career

I started falling in love with design and code back in 2008. During that time I could spend hours customizing my Hi5 profile with HTML / CSS snippets, neon colors, and funny marquees. It was chaotic, saturated, and honestly very fun.

Those hours I spent designing eventually became a big curiosity for me. I was seriously considering the Graphic Design degree, but I ended up studying Computing Engineering in the Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico City. This decision was mostly made because I got good grades in Math assignatures in high school, but my interest for designing never really disappeared from my heart.

After finishing school I discovered that I could start a career in Frontend development and I loved it, because I could cover my 2 biggest interests and start learning more about product building, user experience, and even how a feature is added to a digital product, covering all the processes behind. Even when I am interested in Design, I have also covered parts of Backend development multiple times in my career, which means I can handle Full stack roles with confidence.

Outside work

In my free time, I enjoy painting with gouache or watercolors, knitting, taking photos, traveling, playing Animal Crossing and going to the cinema while eating mixed salty and sweet popcorn (an acquired taste after moving to Berlin).

My favorite city in the world is Tokyo. I also have a very special obsession with japanese stationery products, and I am seriously thinking about building a small website dedicated to everything I brought back from my last trip.

Nerdiness

I have a soft spot for CSS. I love struggling with it, make it work and finding new ways of using it. I also like experimenting with CSS illustrations and other SVG ideas. If you are curious, you can find some of those experiments on my CodePen.
